Our First Virtual Initiation

This semester our chapter has adapted to live life virtually, this included meetings, rush, pledge class, service projects, fellowships, and initiation being all held virtually. Initially, this was very difficult, but as the semester kept going, virtual life became more and more natural. Our wonderful pledges succeeded and moved on to the neophyte ceremony, and then to initiation. Our SAA, Christopher, planned a beautiful weekend and ceremony regardless of the obstacles he faced to get there. During our first virtual initiation weekend, we had the privilege to welcome Robert M. Coop, the national president of APhiO, Melody Martin, the national VP, Maggie Katz, the first female national president, and lastly but not least, Dr. Jamie Conover Stewart, the pledge class namesake. If the ceremony would have been in person, the majority of these distinguished alumni, as well as some of our own AZK distinguished alumni, may not have been able to attend. Virtual initiation may not be ideal, but the chapter loved to see these alumni. Read more about the first AZK virtual Initiation on November 25th when the Illuminator is revived and published for the first time in years!
